Venue Spotlight- Sandy Spring Museum


The Sandy Spring Museum is a hidden gem  located in the small quaint town of Sandy Spring, Maryland. The Museum has many children's activities, changing art exhibits and a vast display of local history. Besides the wonderful art and history  they also have event rentals. 


The Dr.Bird Ballroom can seat 80 people and host 125 for theater or 160 for standing capacity.Five large windows with opaque shades enable daytime image projection. High above the large octagonal room are exposed oak trusses supporting a roof topped with a windowed cupola.


The Farquhar Gallery has hardwood floors with floor to ceiling glass windows, facing the Courtyard and its gardens. Art exhibits hang on the natural brick wall.


The Courtyard is a private, level grassy area  bordered by beautiful gardens. Excellent for outdoor affairs , tenting allowed by approved companies. Seating is 200 for theater, 150 for seated, 225 for standing.


The Ladson Library is a working library that is a 27' diameter octagonal room with computer access making it perfect for smaller meetings since it seats 25.




There is a caterer kitchen and ample parking on site. Tables and chairs are included in the rental and av equipment is available at an additional charge.
