Sarah Elliott Events

SEE (Sarah Elliott Events)

Incorporating modern portraiture and photo-journalistic documentation, let Sarah and Elliott fuse their unique talents to showcase your wedding; right down to the smallest detail. Beautiful, timeless images that preserve your love story as it unfolds. Outstanding client referrals and lots of photography experience in the MD/DC/VA area.

Background- Elliott's from London, shoots Nikon, owns a PC and loves his cat. Sarah's from DC shoots Canon, has a MAC and is obsessed with her dog (a yorkie). Despite our differences we come together, balance each other with our individual strengths and have a great time doing what we love best- shooting weddings and creating art.

3 questions with SEE

Where do you love to shoot engagements? Georgetown & DC has it all! Last week we shot Kristen + John's engagement session at a hidden little landing overlooking the Potomac River with cool graffiti walls and the most unbelievable skyline behind the Key Bridge. We decided to do it at sunset to catch the before and after views. We brought in lighting for the night session….The result was unlike anything we had done before.

The DC Cherry Blossom Festival made for a stunning backdrop for Stephanie + Jimmy's engagements this past spring.

We also love to shoot anytime sessions with couples. Below is Alex and Freddy who have been dating for 7 years and just wanted some fun shots in the city! We love pushing ourselves to find the coolest locations: How about in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue downtown DC during rush-hour traffic? ...Why not!

a favorite from Ben + Amanda's engagement session in Fells Point, Baltimore-- where they met + had their first date!

Best thing about having two professional photographers at your wedding? We can be in two places at once! Elliott and I work together as a team to capture every part of your wedding day. Telling the whole story is important to us. During the getting ready time, Elliott can be in the room with the groom and groomsmen and I get to document the bride + her bridesmaids! Its always a fun time being all girls... I always hear from brides that they feel much more comfortable with a female photographer while they undress, change and get glamorous! For the Ceremony, two shooters allows us to focus on candid-journalistic type shots-- like parents reactions--while still getting the first kiss and ring exchange. For the reception, Elliott can shoot group shots while I hurry into the ballroom/reception to take detail shots of the tables, flowers and set-up before guests enter from cocktail hour. The best part? We are two professional full-time shooters, not just a professional and one assistant; both Elliott and I are 100% invested in our company as owners and each and every shot matters to uphold the professionalism and integrity of the business we have built together.

What is one of the most important things for us as photographers on a couples big day? Having the time to spend with the bride + groom to catch intimate emotions. To really take enough time to relax, pose and just document their love in that moment and setting-- privately away from guests and without the rush or stress. This is the hour that you will get all the artistic portraits of you just you two as newlyweds. All your prints and albums (and most likely your favorites!) will come from this time… so make sure to plan accordingly :) Here are some favorites from this past year:
