Top 10 Questions to Ask a Photographer

Besides the basic questions, such as "do you have my date available" and "what is your cost," you should ask a few more questions when deciding to hire a photographer.

Here are my Top 10 questions to ask.

1. How long have you been in business and how many weddings have you shot?
2. How do you describe your style? (answers could be traditional, creative, journalism)
3. Do you shot in digital or film format and do you shot in black & white or color?
4. What information do you need from me to make my wedding day a success?
5. What is your back up plan and back up equipment situation?
6. Have you worked at my site before? What about my other vendors?
7. How long will it take to get my engagement pictures and my wedding pictures?
8. What is the picture ordering process?
9. Who are your top references?
10. What makes you different from the other photographers?

Picking a photographer, or any vendor, really comes down to their personality and your personality and if it’s a good fit. You want to be as comfortable as possible on your wedding day! Go with your gut.
